Fresh strawberries and basil are a flavor match made in heaven! And this strawberry basil cocktail with vodka proves it. Strawberry simple syrup adds a vibrant red hue and a delicious flavor. Basil-infused vodka provides a delightful and aromatic tipsy base. My family calls it a strawberry basil martini. I call it delicious!
The Best Strawberry Cocktails Start with Fresh Fruit Syrup
I recently shared an easy method for making strawberry syrup. During strawberry season, there is nothing better than having a batch of fresh, homemade simple syrup handy. Of course, you can use bottled syrup if you prefer. But with all of those beautiful fresh berries at the market, why not make your own? It couldn’t be easier. Check out my quick and easy strawberry syrup recipe to learn how. You’ll need a batch (or a store-bought bottle) for this strawberry basil martini.
Add Infused Vodka for an Herbal Twist
Basil-infused vodka is also super easy to make, but you do need to plan ahead. Check out my tutorial on how to make infused vodka for a quick guide. You can alternatively use pre-made basil vodka, if you prefer. However, don’t skimp on the fresh basil garnish. It really adds a wonderful aroma to this strawberry basil cocktail.
How to Make a Strawberry Basil Cocktail
This strawberry martini is so seasonal and delicious. The combination of ripe, sweet strawberries and peppery, fragrant basil works surprisingly well together. Add a splash of fresh lime juice, an aromatic sprig of fresh basil, and voila! You’ve got a sophisticated strawberry basil vodka cocktail, the perfect tipsy drink to enjoy on the patio on a hot summer day.

Delish. I will try. Every year my BFF and I hit the tennis tourney in Indian Wells, CA. Our first stop is Tommy Bahamas on El Paseo. First order of business… Pink Grapefruit Basil Martini. This looks just as good!
