A collection of nut-free recipes that are safe for anyone with a nut allergy to consume. When purchasing ingredients, please always check the label to ensure that the product has not come into contact with nuts during processing or packaging.
Nut allergy awareness is on the rise. Even trace amounts of nuts can trigger a dangerous nut allergy. My toddler started preschool this month, and her welcome packet came with a big warning against packing nut products in her snack box.
These recipes are free from peanuts and tree nuts. Luckily we don’t have any allergies in our home. I do stock peanut butter in my kitchen; however, my stomach isn’t always great with it. Peanuts are legumes, and can be difficult to digest for some people. Of course, the same may be said for seeds – it really depends on an individual’s food tolerance. The recipes below do include some made with seeds, like Sunflower Butter – my favorite alternative to peanut butter, as well as quinoa and tahini (made with sesame seed paste).
